The project at Ahern’s Filling Station in Thurles included extensive upgrades to support a new layout and modernize the facility. 

Work Included

• Key works involved installing new waste pipes, addressing sewer issues, reinforcing the roof with bracing and corner columns, and stitching cracks in the gable wall.

• A plinth was built for refrigeration units, fascia and soffit upgrades accommodated signage, and flooring changes included a fire-rated access hatch, matwell, and marine plywood.

• Other improvements included relocating ice cream and coffee machines, internal painting, fitting manhole covers, leveling works, and installing a water softener.

• Security was enhanced with an upgraded access system, additional CCTV cameras, and a monitor at the till.

• Electrical and data upgrades provided power for the car wash, washing machines, and pump house, with provisions for future pumps.

• Additional works addressed poor ground conditions and facilitated temporary shop operations, ensuring an efficient, modern, and secure environment.
