Project Description

This project located at a busy Thurles service station entailed a complete redevelopment of the existing facilities to modernize its infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience. The project included the extension of the current station footprint, construction of a new substation to support upgraded power demands, redesign and expansion of the carpark, and comprehensive facilities upgrades including staff areas, restrooms, food and beverage outlets, and forecourt amenities. All works were carried out with the service station remaining live.

Work Included
  • Extension to rear of shop with 66% additional floor space achieved.

  • Steel and concrete works to support existing structure and new truss roof.

  • Steel works to front wall of shop to achieve full glass front.

  • Building of new ESB substation to upgrade incoming supply.

  • Ductwork starting at local poled transformer then leading to substation, fireman switch, shop, car chargers etc.

  • Installation of new fireman switch in the case of an emergency.

  • Additional car park at rear of shop which also hosts a double electric car charger, dog grooming station & pay as you go waste compactors.

  • Installation of 2no. 40,000l rainwater harvesting tanks. Fed off both roof rainwater & onsite well.

  • Total overhaul of existing shop floor including relocation of tills, increased deli area, installation of walk in fridge freezer, increased ceiling heights
