20 weeks.

Tower upgrade works at Shannon air traffic control tower, Shannon Airport, Co. Clare. Complete concrete repairs to the 26m high tower trunk and cab itself with resurfacing of the roofs and observation deck.

Work Included

  • All work was carried out in a 24/7 live environment on one of only two emergency landing airports in western Europe.

  • Work involved in stripping back and repairing of window mullions at the cab face all under the supervision and coordination of PBC Builders and the IAA management at a fully operational cab.

  • Other works included upgrades to the main office block façade and internal fire protection to all areas without the need for shutdown.

  • PBC Builders are proud to have completed the project with the highest safety standards maintained and hope to see the tower cabs facelift as a feature to look out for those of you intending on using Shannon Airport in the future.
